Rental Assemblies Returning to Stock

How would the use of case of an Assembly that is used to full fill a (rental order). The parts are trackable, some even testable, but they are sent to a customer to used, returned, disassembled, checked/tested, returned to stock for availability. Again these would be serialized and batched parts.
If using the return process from sales order does that affect the reporting of sales also?

InvenTree is not designed to handle loaning/renting operations. You might be able to extend it to that usage with a plugin, but out-of-the-box this is not something it is designed for. InvenTree is also not an accounting solution, that needs to be handled in another way.

Understood, its just so close to how we currently handle our own builds, and work orders.
Maybe feature request then, ability to mark items "returnable, reusable, rental", and that just leaves any build order, sales order records completed and unmodified.

i really do not see a point in adding cosmetic support in core, that is what we have plugins for
