@JJ856 selecting a part is a hard requirement. You need to have traceability about what was actually being manufactured, as well as the bill of materials. If you wanted to "hack" this you could create a "dummy" part to manufacture. But we will not support removing the part requirement from the build process. |

Hey Guys,
I'm new here and don't know how to adress a wish. So hopefull it's ok here.
For the background, I'm electronic developer at a electronic workshop in a science institute.
I was looking for a new "database" for our workshop.
It should could handle our storage and orders/manufacturing stuff. Actual we use Filemake. It's a "grown" database and the guy who create it retire 10 years ago already. And so far nobody take care about it. So I thought would be a great opportunity to make a restart with some nice open source software.
Best like would be to use the parts in the storage direct in the Manufacturing to get a easy price overview we sometimes need.
I find your program and fall direct in love. Parts and Stock is amazing and great for our usability.
Manufactoring looks also perfect to us at the first sight. I play around and run Inventree at a little VM for testing.
Now, finally the question.
When I want to create a new build order I have to select a part. It's not optional and I cant find a "switch" to make it optional.
Is it possible to make that optional?
Our working here in development is different. Most of the device build only 1 time.
We need to create a build order free first. To create a "dummy" part or something like that first is not good. I will not convince my colleagues with that...
Thank you so much for all the work. The project looks amazing
