Typescript error: ConfigDefaults is not assignable to type string | number | boolean

Hey so following the documentation, I'm trying to create a function using remoteConfig. Yet, I'm getting a type error. I was hoping to find a solution to this. Here's the code I have:

Versions of everything in use?
Why is is setDefaults({ defaults }) instead of (defaults) ?
Not sure why the type is bent, perhaps typescript is trying to infer something and duck-typing it based on it being wrapped in another object that I don't think it should be wrapped in?
