Where should I install it?

This is my first time to contact with issac lab related
,I have seen some demonstration videos in Ubuntu. I want to ask if installing under Windows is not as good as installing under Ubuntu, and if it is recommended to install under Ubuntu, can it be installed in a virtual machine

Thanks for starting this discussion. Both systems are supported. However, we see a larger community of Isaac Lab users with Ubuntu installations. @StrainFlow may be able to provide more feedback.

I would definitely recommend an Ubuntu 22.04 Workstation (not laptop) right now. You can get Isaac Sim and Ros 2 and Jetpack and Isaac Lab each working on Windows on their own. Each has its own roadblocks on Windows that can be overcome individually, but all together make it hard to work with robotics on Windows.
