How to completely remove all files downloaded during failed build process? (Linux)

Description:
I encountered build failures when compiling Isaac Sim 5.0.0 beta on Ubuntu 20.04 and need guidance on complete cleanup. Here's my workflow:

1. Cloned repo to /mnt/exchange/PycharmProjects/isaacsim (mounted drive)
2. Ran:

   git lfs install
   git lfs pull
   ./build.sh

3. Build failed after downloading significant data
4. Ran ./build.sh -c which only removed _build/ directory
5. Significant disk space remains occupied on my system root partition (not the mount where repo lives)

Key questions:

1. Where are the hidden dependency/cache files stored ?
2. What's the proper way to remove ALL build-related artifacts including
3. Is storing the repo on mounted drives discouraged? Should we always use system drive?
4. Is it OK to use Ubuntu20.04 to install Isaac Sim 5.0.0 ?

Addition information:

1. I have isaac sim 2023.1.1 in home/user_name/.local/share/ov/pkg/isaac_sim-2023.1.1

It's recommended to use Ubuntu 22.04 for Isaac Sim 5.0.0 beta, as per the prerequisites and environment setup in the documentation.

Regarding the cleanup of build-related artifacts, here are some commands that might help, categorized by the level of aggressiveness in cleaning:

• Level one (clean build directory):
  git clean -fdx

• Level two (remove Omniverse package cache):
  rm -rf ~/.local/share/ov

• Level three (clear Packman cache):
  rm -rf ~/.cache/packman/chk/

Please exercise caution when using rm -rf commands, especially on system root partitions.

As i mentioned before, i have isaac sim 2023-1-1 under ~local/share/ov/pkg. So i can't delete the ov folder. And I checked the files under chk and the modification times are basically the same as my build times. Can I still take the action of level three to delete chk folder? Will it affect my old version of isaac sim?

Deleting the ~/.cache/packman/chk/ folder (Level three cleanup) should not affect your older version of Isaac Sim. This folder primarily contains cache files from the build process, and clearing it is generally safe for existing installations. However, you can back up before trying it anyway.
