incoherent stripes from recent Sentinel-1

Using Sentinel-1 data through 2025 I get incoherent stripes as shown in this averaged spatial coherence plot.
I don't get it when I remove recent imager (2025).

What could be the cause? In another case I was able to identify the bad acquisition using trial and error by processing mini stacks of 3-4 images. After removing the offending image everything worked as expected. This smells like some misalignment and the extract_stack_valid_region step blacks an area out.
