Exclude Files from Smart Synchronisation

Is there a way to exclude certain folders from being downloaded (cached)?
For example an assets folder which contain images etc...

You can exclude items from synchronizing to the server, but it isn't possible to exclude items from being synchronized to the cache without completely hiding them within the file listing.
