Support Zed Tasks

Justfile is for tasks, and Zed has this task system that automatically lists some tasks based on current context.

For example for rust extension (rust not exactly an extension yet) provides some tasks:

It would be great if commands in the justfile at project root directory can be placed into task list.

Hey @Congyuwang, I don't see anything about extensions having access to tasks. Are you aware of this feature existing?

Oh yes. Zed does not allow that yet. Just found this issue here: zed-industries/zed#11133. But it would be pretty cool for "just" if it is allowed in the future.

zed-industries/zed#11133 got closed on June 2, 2024 and mentioned this Zed blog post: https://zed.dev/blog/zed-decoded-tasks which says:

Language extensions can define their own tasks.json, which are then presented to the user.

Does this mean we can move this request forward now?

Somehow it does not work with fish if it is the system shell, even if zed is configured to use bash for the terminal. For example:

test-task:
    @echo "it works!"

In the terminal I get:

vrichard@vr-desktop:~/test$ just test-task
it works!

But when I run from Zed I get:

fish: command substitutions not allowed here
(cd "/home/vrichard/test" && just "test-task")
^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^

I does not seem like task shell can be configured in Zed (yet). Zed still uses fish when the terminal is set to use bash:

Awesome! Can we also get the tasks as commands (that would raise the question which justfile to take when multiple ones are defined, but would still be very useful for many cases)?

Provided Zed allows extensions to contribute dynamic commands (not idea if true) ...
