Future .webp support?

Hey mate any thought on supporting animated .webp files ? Would be nice to get away from GIFs drawback of only supporting Index transparency & not Alpha amongst other GIF limits compared to webp. What do you reckon?

Hey @theShiZa great idea! It was something I thought about way back when and sadly Opensea doesn't support webp. It does support webm so that might be the next step forward. But I haven't seen any strong cases or demand to investigate this and add functionality, given mp4 is supported.

Yea actually I'm very surprised OpenSea doesn't support webp yet but supports webm, just found that out now from you. Can .mp4's be looped infinitely like GIFs? Do .mp4's & .webm's match each other in quality:size ? Haven't read too much about webm yet.

@theShiZa afaik it depends on the platform. OS will auto loop mp4s, some websites might not. Given the infancy of the space, might be better to just go with mp4 to be safe
