Bug Description
Hello JASP Friends! This is my question: is this a feature or a bug? In the new version 0.18.3, the nominal text variable icon looked like the nominal icon with the addition of an "a" in the lower right blue ball. In version 0.19, the ball is missing and JASP seems to be handling both nominal numeric variables and nominal text variables the same. This seems like an improvement. As a statistics instructor, however, I have a tutorial that explains the difference between nominal and nominal text. My
students are working through the tutorial and asking about why the "a" does to show up as I described. I need to know if this is a new feature and so I need to update my tutorial or if it is a bug and JASP will return to distinguishing nominal text?
Expected Behaviour
Either option is okay with me. I need to know if this was an intentional change so that I can adapt accordingly. I read through the release notes but did not see anything about this change.
Steps to Reproduce
Open any dataset with nominal text variables. Note that the icon for text variables has changed.
