Bug Description

Trying to open an Excel file (exported from prolific I believe), which I open fine in R using library readxl, but which fails in JASP with error code -27:

1. import Excel file (I don't know what in this particular Excel file causes JASP to crash)

Hi, -27 returns from dependent means The file doesn't seems to be a valid XLSX document. I never see that before, could you share your excel file(just a minor sample to reproduce it).

It's still a freeXL bug so you may export it as .csv and import into JASP temporarily.

I can confirm the bug with flatpak 0.19.2.

exporting with excel to ods and then importing to jasp does also work

if this is a bug with freeXL, we will have to fix it ourselves because freeXL seems to be abandoned since over a year now, see: https://www.gaia-gis.it/fossil/freexl/timeline
