[Bug]: Everytime I open JASP its extremely laggy and the screen flashes violently between screens.

Bug Description

I downloaded JASP on my Chromebook using the instructions on the website through Linux, and it downloaded fine with no problems. But when I open JASP, the app doesn't work at all; the screen flashes violently between the new data section and the opening screen, and it is extremely laggy.

Expected Behaviour

It should not flash and open the new data section without lag.

1. open JASP
2. create new data
3. let it sit and flash violently
   ...

If you have further details for us, please let us know over there.
Things that could be usefull to know:

• chromeOS version
• chromebook model
• did you try with safe graphics mode on? You can do this via this command:
  flatpak run org.jaspstats.JASP --safeGraphics
• did you ran older versions of JASP successfully in the past on that machine?

I have the same error - see below when running safe graphics command on Acer Chromebook 314 updated to latest version of software

To provide a more stable graphical user experience in Crostini,
the GPU-based rendering driver (virgl) has been disabled by default
for existing and new environments in ChromeOS version 131 and newer.

OpenGL and OpenGLES applications will continue to function using a
CPU-based rendering driver (swrast).

Going into the menu, preferences, advanced and ticking developer mode has fixed this for me

Please try this command to start jasp from the terminal:
flatpak override --user --nosocket=fallback-x11 --socket=x11 --nosocket=wayland org.jaspstats.JASP
