Bug Description

Hi guys - working on developing a module ... I am struggling. I am following the guides here: https://github.com/jasp-stats/jasp-desktop/blob/development/Docs/development/jasp-module-workflow.md

I have completed the steps through Steps to add the module folder as a development module in JASP

I want to do the new way --> but I don't see this as an option

I only see the older version ... I am using JASP 0.95.2 ... is this a window that's coming soon? I only see the renv option, rather than enable direct libpath mode.

If I complete the second option:

I always see this "installing" option - is that what it should do? Shouldn't I be able to see a new option in the list to show my module so I can start adding features?

Expected Behaviour

1. should I see the new option that you want people to use?
2. should it always say "installing"?

I think the screenshot you posted / referenced is out of date. I also see only

And I struggled too early on, see my comment here #3404 (comment), for my step by step solution at that time. You may need to adapt that one, since I am on manjaro linux / not on macOS

Hi @doomlab,

Awesome that you are trying to get a module going! And yes, it's rather painful at the start.. But it does get better!
The one step you are missing is toggling the "enable renv mode" checkbox (just confirming Tom's statement above, on my Mac):

When you have a module there, there will be button below "install module" that says "install developer module" - the first time it will take quite a while (but not more than let's say 10 minutes), but if you then update some R/qml code, reinstall the module in R, and refresh the developer module, it will be quite quick. I hope that helps, and I'm sure the team can help with further questions!

Ok friends ... I am listing the solution here for posterity.

• I did do the things @tomtomme recommended - don't know if this helped or not, but I did them!
• I double checked I had clang and gfortran on my mac (check).
• I made sure I linked to the build folder, as the first time I had linked to the github repo clone folder on my computer.
• At first, it crashed when I tried to load it (better than hanging like it was before). After using some gpt magic, it turns out that I changed the name in the Description.qml but not DESCRIPTION ... and this was the magic sauce that caused the crash. It loads now --> off to the races!
