append to list within loops.Scope()

After reading through the documentation on Jax's Loop's Module, I thought it would be possible to execute the following piece of code

with loops.Scope() as s:
  s.data = []
  for i in s.range(5):
    s.data.append(1.) 

Based on the error message, it seems that I have to "instatiate" s.data in a different way, but I am not exactly sure how.

TypeError: Mutable state 'data' had at the end of the loop body new abstract value [ShapedArray(float32[])], which is different from initial one  []
