BT Tethering not working

I know what it seems, another idiot who can't follow guides, but hear me out. This is my second pwnagotchi, I've actually successfully built one before, but I wanted to get new plugins and then decided to move to this image. In my previous pwnagotchi, I managed to successfully connect to my bluetooth, but in this image something isn't right. I can:
pair with my device
trust my device
But when i run the command connect, it responds
[CHG] Device XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX Connected: yes
[CHG] Device XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX ServicesResolved: yes
Failed to connect: org.bluez.Error.NotAvailable br-connection-profile-unavailable

And I can't figure out what's happening with it.

Does anyone have a clue?

connect shouldnt used, the plugin isnt designed to be run that way.
It works on startup so reboot and check pwnlog.

I've ran the command because I was desperate for a solution, but today I cleared the information again, unpaired and also removed the device, and followed the guide you sent me. It doesn't seem to connect, despite being successfully paired; Checking the pwnlog as you suggested, informed me the following :
Phone type not supported

Which is weird, because not only I could connect to a previous 1.8.5 version, but also is a pretty decent phone.
Unfortunately the only thing that works right on the 1.8.5 image is the bluetooth tethering lol.

Make sure Bluetooth and personal hotspot is switched on, on your phone.

In config.toml, ensure Bluetooth tethering is enabled.

From the terminal, I go into BLUETOOTHCTL then I type DISCOVERABLE ON. The pwnagotchi shows up on my phone and I click to pair.

When the above steps are done, the terminal shows my phones name and then I type TRUST on the terminal.

For me, Bluetooth pairing to the pwnagotchi is very simple but I've never got it to connect to the internet with my phone and I've never been able to access the web ui using the Bluetooth IP.

That's usually the process I follow, after your reply I've got motivated to try once again; Cleared the connection, turned on tethering and hotspot, forgot the device, scan on, discoverable on, pair, trust. But again, I got the same error as described on the thread:
Phone type not supported

Furthermore, Bluetooth pairing indeed was very simple to me on the version 1.8.5. And after I moved to this current version, realised the Tethering wasn't working, for good measure I went back to the older version and once again made the BT work. But unfortunately the BT is the only thing that works better on that version, I guess I will need to find a middle term.

What phone are you using?

iOS is disabled by default. This needs to be enabled.

It is a Pixel 7 Pro.

I read somewhere if you don't make the connection right for the first time, it won't work.
I will try to reinstall the image and try again being as careful as possible.

Install 2.8.9 64 bit.

Then update once you're inside the terminal.

Was just curious what made you suggest this. I'm about to re-image mine cause I was seeing this error too. So is the latest release buggy? Also when you say update once inside, your just talking about running sudo apt update?

I wouldn't recommend running sudo apt update, if you manage to connect to BT and Wi-Fi it will automatically download the latest update. If you have the same issue, just reinstall the image and make sure you do the right process on the first time you try.
