Yes, this is the way it is connected. The meter is sending data to MppSolar to either charge or discharge the battery. There are PV cells on the MppSolar also and MppSolar is unwilling to take power from the grid to charge the batteries, only used the PV connected to self. |

Hello, I have an MppSolar MPI10k inverter and recently I have installed a grid-tie inverter (Huawei) onto the grid connection. I am sending periodic EMINFO commands into MppSolar and I cannot get it to charge the battery from the grid. As soon as I enable charging battery from the grid, it starts to charge at maximum set current. The best it does(with AC charging disabled) is that the MppSolar is charging battery with onboard MPPTs and the energy not consumed by the house (generated by Huawei) is being exported.
I wanted to achieve something that Victron MultiPlus can do where it can take power from the grid or export to grid based on energy meter.
