Destination filename suffix, based on the chosen Preset

Background

Videomass is great and I use many of its presets, even have my own created.
I do different things to videos, some I resize to 720p, some I only stabilize, some I lower the FPS to 25, etc.
But when I go into the output folder with dozens of converted files, I can see they were from videomass (because I add the global suffix "-videomassed" in settings), but unless I check each video metadata, I cannot read quickly which preset I've used. I thought that maybe videomass had an option inside a preset to set the filename suffix, but I could not find it.

Feature

I'd like if Videomass would let users configure a different output filename suffix, per-profile, instead of just the global setting.
This way I could automatically use suffixes like "-720p", "-stabilized", "-25fps" etc. directly and this new setting would help immensely there, and please me a lot!
PS: btw, how do you call them: presets or profiles?

Thank you, I appreciate your feedback.

Your idea is good, but keep in mind that in cases like this, Videomass offers the option to rename destination filenames. You can rename files individually or use batch renaming with adjustable ascending numbering. Furthermore, the optional additional suffix set in the preferences will always be applied to the files being renamed.

This feature is available in the File List panel, where you drag files to the application.

I understand that automatically adding preset names directly to destination filenames is more faster, but this would cause a lot difficult-to-solve issues, one of which is related to the use of legal characters for various operating systems.

PS: btw, how do you call them: presets or profiles?

In Videomass, a preset is a container for profiles or profile lists; each profile stores only the FFmpeg parameters.

Same here, appreciated the time you took to reply - I had a chance to play with your suggestions, and sorry for not noticing them before.

Sadly, I feel that regarding my personal usage they don't quite help me - I usually add dozens of files at once to the Videomass list, and if I want to rename them from there, I'm presented with two choices:

• add the suffix myself (in-built renaming feature) - I would need to still do it one-by-one.
• Use in-built batch rename - ends up replacing all my original filenames with a common name, which would actually end up creating more trouble for me (in my use case, that is).

Hope I could explain the current dilemma.

Perhaps a very simple initial implementation of this QoL change I suggested would do? (the suffix per-profile). And regarding the valid concern on legal/reserved filename characters, perhaps you could initially only allow some ASCII characters, then expand upon that afterwards when you have the chance/if you would like?
