sleep_time and --nextpvr

What do these variables actually do?
Just trying to understand if I need to use either.

Sleep Time (only used in Docker) basically how long to wait to automatically pull a new guide. If not used I believe without looking runs every 6 hours by default. If you use it it's in seconds so if you wanted 12 hours you'd multiply 60 seconds x 60 minutes x 12 hours = 43200

--nextpvr (CLI) or NEXTPVR=TRUE (Docker) reorders to where the first <display name> field is the Channel # Call Sign because it was requested by someone using NextPVR so it would be able to match OTA by number easier.

I am using docker but am using crontab to run my run-zap2xml.sh file that I created with my pulls. So I assume that crontab in my case is replacing the sleep time?

If you're using Docker it's set by default just to run automatically every 6 hours by default. If you installed the Node.js version you'd use the run script as a cron job.

To use nextpvr I would assume that I would want to use something like this?

In command line just --nextpvr

You can actually shorten your command to
node dist/index.js --timespan=360 --postalCode=14201 --nextpvr --outputFile=/xmltv/xmltv-buffalo.xml as it defaults to USA and OTA if not specified

Way off topic. Do you use your xml files from this script to import into dispatcharr?
If you do, how do you do it? I seem to have to give it the xteve url and it seems as though that's a bit redundant.

Yes that's correct if you're wanting OTA from that postal code in Canada

Yes in dispatcharr you can just map your xmltv folder that you have mapped to map to /data/epgs in Dispatcharr and will auto update in Dispatcharr

Output is going to sort by the guide channel number by default if you update. If you prefer the current sort by stationid use --stationid also added a --sortname to do alphabetically
