Default Genre data

The new asterisk and episode and season information appear to be working for me using the --mediaportal option. Only one genre is working, however. I think that they were working out of the gate with the historical Perl version. I'm wondering if there's a standard or specification to how the tvguide.xml should be formatted. This isn't a huge deal for me but it would be a bonus to have working.

The Genres that are available would be movie sports news talk family and if none of those were returned then Series is added. I looked through raw data returned this morning and this is all that are returned. Check your xml file in a text program to verify missing.

I'm at a loss as to why it works with one and not the other.
Is the Order Important?
Headers need to be different for the file or each location?

I do see those categories as available elsewhere in the MediaPortal Screen. Perhaps it is user error. But with the Perl version it works, but I tried with TypeScript one and it doesn't. Then I monkeyed around with where I saw the Grouping and I'm at a loss.

I don't see why that would make a difference. Can't do all the additional details like the original with the -D as it rate limits even now on the Perl script. I figured out how to pull the raw data earlier and gonna see if there is anything else I noticed the movie year is there but was not being pulled

I ran this from your earlier version. I think my method of renaming the unzip folder and installing it and running the batch file is working. I'll try and pull the latest one when I get a chance. I hope we're not wasting our time with the order, but we do know it certainly made a difference for episode numbers. I think it was a reasonable guess to make it like the PERL version.

Basically I'd just download the zip again and do the npm install then npm run build again as long as it's in the same location your batch file will work. But it's in the identical order from the perl as I ran a pull earlier today to compare

Well, I think we've done what we can on the code end for MediaPortal. And by "we", I mean you. Now, I am getting colors, but they don't match to the color settings by the genre in the MediaPortal program. Perhaps I need a different skin or to simply call it a night.

I think that's as good as you're going to get PBS kids are majority tagged family so they're red. The movie on bounce is darker the rest on there is probably generic series except maybe the fox 31 news you'd have to check

I got them all working now and the colors I want.
After your updates, I looked harder in the TV server settings for MediaPortal and found that some were "mapped" wrong.
They should be like this (below)... Or one can rename the Genres in MediaPortal TV Services App, but in my experience that doesn't work with MediaPortal Skins.

Bottom line, I think we're good to close this issue.
I'll open another discussion that I noticed the EPG didn't load overnight when run... I hope we can resolve that.
