Copy & Paste commit hash

How do you copy the commit hash and paste it in a message commit, assuming that you want to refer to another commit, like: see 34ac345c3? Going to an older commit and press c will copy the commit, but how to paste it?

Press `y` to open up a menu or `ctrl+o` to copy the hash.
