Does lazygit support the trailers feature?

I stumbled on them via this article but have not find a way within lazygit to make use of them.

We do not, though that was quite an interesting read. Do you have a specific use case in mind? E.g.:

• manually specifying trailers when creating a commit
• manually adding a trailer to a commit after creating it
• automatically generating trailers when creating a commit

I'm struggling to imagine an automatic trailer feature that wouldn't be better handled in a regular git hook.

For our use cases currently, you're right, git hooks does the job best. What we're thinking is moving Jira references from the start of the commit message to trailers, which we currently automate with git hooks that gets the Jira ID from the branch name.

That said, the optional examples that article gives though seem like useful use cases that one is unlikely to cover with a git hook, in particular the milestone one looks useful. Co-author also seems like one I might occasionally use and probably wouldn't automate via the branch description.

I could just manually write in the trailers at the end of the commit message when I need to, so there's likely no need for a specific lazygit feature for this regardless - the question was mainly just out of curiosity.

Co-author also seems like one I might occasionally use and probably wouldn't automate via the branch description.

Luckily we already support this one directly! (via pressing 'a' on a commit then selecting 'Add co-author').
