LazyGit registering enter and backspace twice

Whenever I try to press enter using lazygit, it registers it twice. It is not only in insert mode but also anytime i need to select anything. Same thing occurs with backspace, it deletes two characters at a time. I tried reading the config but it seems like there was nothing affecting it. My theory is it might be a plugin doing this or a debounce time issue.

I wasn't sure to add this here or issues as I'm pretty sure lazygit is working as intended. It's prob a skill issue on my end.

What terminal emulator are you using (and on which platform)? Do you have another one that you could try? Anything special involved like tmux or something similar?

I realized I was writing under lazygit repo instead of lazyvim. I'm running kitty terminal and when trying under xterm and uxterm, there is no issue (except some formatting issues due to fonts). I'll ask the same thing under lazyvim repo with more information.
