When I try to edit commits by staging separate files, I get this error.

I don't understand what it is that I do wrong here.

Also searched for this in the repo but couldn't find a clear answer.

Weird, after posting this, I now understand the message. I have to press the } key to increase it. I must have accidentally pressed { one day without knowing this.
