How to delete/discard one untracked file

Hello,

I have a file selected like below:

I want to delete it, just it. I see d is for "discard" which doesn't work for this untracked file, and D is for "reset" but sadly it removes all untracked files and it's not what I want.

I found a way to do this: I stage the untracked files I want to keep and then I use D to remove all untracked files. Is there a better way to do this?

What do you mean by "doesn't work"? d is exactly what you need here.

I was mislead by "Discard all changes" and I only tried "Discard unstaged changes". I thought "Discard all changes" would delete all files, but I failed to notice the message below. Many thanks for the answer! 👍
