Ability to clear squash commit description

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
While working I often create multiple WIP commits, which I don't push until I am satisfied that the set of WIP commits creates the scope I want to commit. Then I select the range of commits to squash into the last and squash them. Because 5x [ticket number] WIP is not saying anything useful I navigate to the input and press backspace until it is empty. Then I go back to the title and rework it to a correct commit message.

If this seems like a good feature to include I would like to give building it a try.

It sounds like you want to use f (fixup) instead of s (squash). The latter concatenates all commit messages, which I find rarely useful, the former drops all commit messages and only keeps the one of the commit you are squashing into.

As for clearing the description, a faster way is to keep pressing ctrl-u if the cursor is at the end, or ctrl-k if it is at the beginning, to delete all lines.

fixup makes merging commits a lot easier and does exactly what I am looking for, thanks for the tip!
