DOM-free version? #97

Hi,
This library is not coupled to JQuery but it's coupled to DOM.
I'd like to use it in ReactNative project but it seems not possible as method inputs are using DOM elements. I guess it could make sense to make a DOM-free version? Some functions like the formatting ones are not exposed with a DOM-free API.
