Running JetKVM on other hardware

Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to run jet kvm's software on a mini PC or a raspberry pi. I saw the discussion about the Linux firmware, but I was wondering if there could be a simple docker compose that could have HDMI, USB and Ethernet forwarded to the container.

I really like your product, but it's a little expensive for me, I already have cheap used hardware.

There's no reason why not, if you have some other form of hardware for doing the HDMI -> CSI, or you write a custom program to obtain your video and put it into the format jetkvm_app expects.

A few people have had a go at running it on a Raspberry Pi, one with a USB capture device.

All in all, it's not officially supported, but you could get it working.

If its not supported, there is nothing saying you can't make a pull request with the features required to make it possible as long as you don't break existing functionality.

Sure, but that depends if JetKVM wants to support that. As soon as the code to support non-jetkvm hardware is upstreamed, that code becomes the responsibility of JetKVM, they can't then do something that may break the non-jetkvm hardware features.

It can, of course, be a community-supported fork.
