Disable HDMI when not in use

Is there a way to disable the HDMI Display when noone is accessing the KVM? I'm using the computer normally as well and would like the display to only show up in windows when using the KVM. Creates issues for me otherwise.

Same here, this would be useful when remoting in from a 4:3 device to a computer with a 21:9 display.

There's a SLEEP mode in the datasheet for the HDMI CSI bridge, would be interesting to see if that makes the computer believe the monitor is off.

I use my JetKVM with a headless mac mini.
I use Parsec to remote into the mac normally but after a reboot or OS Update I use the JetKVM to log back in and unlock File Vault so Parsec can run.

With no HDMI connected I can use an app to set the resolution to whatever I want (QHD).
But when it detects a HDMI it limits the resolution to 1080p for the "Primary display".

Workaround for this exact setup is to add 2 virtual screens via Parsec and try to ignore the additional 1080p screen. But sometimes apps will open up on that screen etc so it's not ideal.

I wonder if there is a kind of "null" EDID that could be configured?

+1 for me - my small home lab / -server uses a couple watts more when the display is active and JetKVM seemingly keeps / reports as having an active display at all times.. and hence driving up the wattage used for no purpose when I am not using it / the JetKVM.

Ideally JetKVM would emulate a 'turned off' or sleeping display when there's no active / visual connection to it / the JetKVM.

This indeed would be VERY useful also in my scenario:
Laptop with external screen. JetKVM is a "third" screen. Have set JetKVM to duplicate Screen 1 in Windows 11.
Locally I can control this with a macro only (macros not available in cloud yet?) with "Win-P, Cursor Down, Return, Esc" because of course Windows sometimes messes this up and I get no signal.
It would actually be easier to virtually unplug the HDMI host and replug, because Windows then remembers to mirror.

I have two screens connecting via HDMI and DP.
I have made them to connect via USB-C and DP, and leave the HDMI to JetKVM.
Two screens are connected to "smart" electricity plugs, and JetKVM is connecded to "smart USB".
I switch the power of the two screens off to use JetKVM.
I am on Ubuntu with wayland. I want to disable the screens with CLI via SSH. But I don't find a way.

+1 for this, I have it plugged in to my main gaming computer and it causes issues when switching between the TV. The JetKVM is only used when I'm abroad as I leave the PC on for streaming.

• web interface (when in remote)
• touch screen (when in local)
• automatic mechanisms (sleep, configurable timeout)

I have to many cases to handle whether I am in remote or in front of the same computer+2 monitors+JetKVM, related to those limitations:

• my BIOS/Grub displaying on one video output only
• Ubuntu 24.X
  => some desktop elements are only displayed on one monitor
  =>desktop screen setup not allowing hybrid mode (2 monitors extended and one of the two duplicated on JetKVM)
  there is a work-around in terminal, with "xrandr --same-as" but working on Ubuntu Xorg session only
  (Wayland limitation on default Ubuntu session ?)

For the moment, this leads to

• default BIOS/OS configuration so that I can manage through JetKVM in remote w/o tuning settings once connected
• manual disconnection of JetKVM HDMI, so that BIOS and OS finally find another "default monitor" when in local

But I should not forget to re-connect HDMI before leaving...!

+1 for this, and also, to be able to set a fixed primary display to mirror. I am on a three-screen system, and the JetKVM is essentially unusable for remote wake up and access (the reason I bought it in the first place), because I'd need to change my screen configuration ahead of time or each time I remote in, which leaves my workspace absolute scrambled whenever I am physically in front of the machine.
