Downgrade from dev to stable without flashing new firmware

when you tick `dev channel updates` and click `check for updates` in the general tab, 
it upgrades from stable to dev as expected

BUT

if you untick `dev channel updates` and click `check for updates` in the general tab,
it says your on the latest version

i would have expected it to pop up saying 'upgrade to 0.3.8' even tho im on '0.3.9-devXXXXXXXX'
