Pandoc server

I can't understand what should I do to run pandoc as a server.

When I do

./pandoc.exe server -p 8080    

I just get

[WARNING] Could not deduce format from file extension  or 
  Defaulting to markdown
pandoc.exe: server: openBinaryFile: does not exist (No such file or directory)
