Beamer Output Bug?

Take a simple input file weird1.md:

# Example: Table

* Say Hello.

# We Continue

and run it through

$ pandoc -t beamer -s -o weird1.beamer weird1.md ; pdflatex weird1.beamer
...
! Undefined control sequence.
\@currentHref ->table.\theHtable 

the pdflatex is pdfTeX 3.141592653-2.6-1.40.26 (TeX Live 2024)

Is this intended behavior?
