Spacing items by a fixed amount

Is there a way to specify a dimension in point and have a set of items distribute with that distance as spacer?

i.e. I want to select 4 objects, type 40 in some input field, ideally in Arrange > Distribute, click the horizontal distribution button and see the space between items being 40 points
