How to keep edge text/label from moving when i move nodes around?

I find that when I have my edge text where I want it (this is especially true for orthogonal lines)
And I move a node connected to the edge the text/label for the edge kind of just wonders off the placement I gave it.

Is there a way to stop this?

Or just keep the edge text a certain distance from the line (so they don't get lost)
I think I would prefer them to not move unless they are idk 1cm from the line and then pull toward it.
