To achieve a clean, durable, and visually appealing BuniBuni body, we recommend the following setup:
- Infill Density: 20%
- Infill Pattern: Gyroid
This combo offers excellent strength-to-weight ratio and smooth internal surfaces—ideal for organic shapes like a bunny with mechanical details.
- Recommended: PLA
PLA is easy to print, supported by virtually every FDM printer, and provides a crisp finish—perfect for showcasing mechanical features. - Alternatives:
- PETG: Adds durability and slight flexibility.
- ABS: Offers heat resistance and supports post-processing (e.g., acetone smoothing).
- Silk PLA or Matte PLA: Great for aesthetic finishes depending on your bunny’s vibe.
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm for a solid balance between detail and speed.
- Print Speed: 50–60 mm/s to maintain quality.
- Wall Thickness: 1.2 mm or more for structural integrity.
- Supports: Enable if your BuniBuni body and legs have overhangs—mine definitely did.
- Brim or Raft: Use a brim for better bed adhesion, especially if your BuniBuni body is compact (mine was slightly so).
- Nozzle Temp: 200–210°C for PLA (adjust based on filament brand).
- Bed Temp: 60°C for PLA.
- Cooling: Enable part cooling fan for sharper details and improved overhang performance.
- Sanding: Light sanding for smoother surfaces.
- Painting: Use acrylic paints to highlight mechanical details or add personality.
- Assembly: If your bunny includes moving joints or electronics, print parts separately and assemble post-print.
