How was the regions of the CID identified in this following picture?

It was a very long and complicated progress.
Let's take a look at the first character 辸 U+8FB8.

• Download this file AI0-SourceHanSans. It's not very obvious since it's in the release branch. We can find these lines
  40218 Ideographs UROr8F uni8FB8-JP
40219 Ideographs UROr8F uni8FB8-CN
40220 Ideographs UROr8F uni8FB8-HK
• The content of the 4th column ends with the region name. So that we know cid 40218 is designed for JP, 40219 is designed for CN and 40220 is designed for HK respectively.
• If we check this file utf32-cn.map, we can know that in SHSans CN 8FB8 refers to cid 40219 which is designed for CN
• Check this file utf32-tw.map, we can know that in SHSans TW 8FB8 refers to cid 40220 which is designed for HK because it's included in HKSCS but not in Big5.
• Check this file utf32-kr.map, we can know that in SHSans KR 8FB8 refers to cid 40218 which is designed for JP because JP and KR can share this glyph.
