Feature Request/Question: Attach to debugger

I'm working with this to create a GUI for a state machine I've implemented. 
I was wondering if you knew how to get the "attach to object" functionality so I could view graphs that exist in memory at runtime. 

If you have any suggestions/documentations I would be willing to contribute this myself if its feasible^^
