Possible to work without app API?

The requirements are pretty clear that you need a client ID and secret to get this to work, so this is a hopeful question rather than an actual issue. Spotify closed down the option to create a new developer app so it's not possible to create a new client ID/secret at this time. You can install spotify-to-plex without entering those values, but you get an (expected) error when trying to start a playlist search.

Is there any way that this app could function for new users who aren't able to create a new developer API?

Spotify developer now requires a premium account to use the Web API. Guess I'll need to look for another solution unless they can find a workaround.
