This tool is very useful, but which licenses are available?
Is the core logic of blender mcp (src/qgis_mcp) distributed under the MIT license?
(I know qgis_mcp_plugin becomes gpl...)

I think that's a decision for @jjsantos01 to make since it's his repo. There's a good resource for picking an open source license he could use. For comparison, QGIS is GPL-2.0. The MIT License is probably good, but the Creative Commons licenses are probably also a good option. If he picks one and wants help doing the pull request, I'm happy to help out. It's a pretty straightforward process.

Thanks for your comments, @zacdezgeo and @richarddunks! I really appreciate your help on this. To be honest, I’m not very familiar with licensing details, and I understand that QGIS’s GPL license may impose some restrictions.

From my side, my intention is to give full freedom for anyone to use this code for any purpose (e.g. MIT), as long as it stays compatible with what the QGIS license requires. I’m open to your suggestions on the most appropriate license choice here.

@jjsantos01 I agree it would be great to have license information for this repo. If you don't have a strong preference, I'd suggest using GPL v2. Since this plugin imports and depends on QGIS, QGISMCP would probably be considered a derivative work of QGIS and might not be compatible with MIT. (Open to others' interpretation here.)

GPL v2 still allows anyone to use, modify, and share the code freely while ensuring that derived works remain open source under the same terms.

As examples, most QGIS plugins use GPL v2+:

• QGIS Cloud Plugin (GPL-2+)
