Contributor Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Our Standards

We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all contributors. Please follow these standards:

✅ Positive Behaviors

  • Be respectful and inclusive: Treat all individuals with respect and consideration
  • Be collaborative: Work together to solve problems and build the best possible solution
  • Be helpful: Provide constructive feedback and assistance to others
  • Be patient: Remember that everyone has different levels of experience and expertise
  • Be professional: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions

❌ Unacceptable Behaviors

  • Harassment: Any form of harassment, sexual harassment, or bullying
  • Discrimination: Discriminatory language, jokes, or behavior based on personal characteristics
  • Spam: Excessive self-promotion, off-topic content, or repetitive messages
  • Personal attacks: Insults, ad hominem attacks, or personal criticism
  • Disruptive behavior: Intentionally disrupting discussions or meetings
  • Privacy violations: Sharing private information without consent

Enforcement

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it to:

  • Email: conduct@verinode.org
  • GitHub: @jobbykingz (project maintainer)
  • Discord: Private message to moderators

All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and confidentially.

Consequences

Unacceptable behavior will result in:

  1. First offense: Private warning and education
  2. Second offense: Temporary suspension (1-7 days)
  3. Third offense: Permanent ban from the community

If you believe you've been unfairly sanctioned, you may appeal to:

Contributing Guidelines

  • Document your changes

Code Review Process

  • Be constructive and specific in your feedback
  • Focus on the code, not the person

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • All public and private community spaces
  • GitHub repositories, issues, and pull requests
  • Discord server and other communication platforms
  • In-person events and meetups
  • Private communications related to the project
