Feature request: Please add autosave

Birdfont is not using the MacOS automatic autosave functions. And sometimes it silently crashes (no error message, no crash log in MacOS Console). Everytime I lose a day or two of work. :(

Could you make it use the built-in MacOS autosave functions? Or at least introduce an autosave option in the settings?

Thank you for the report. I have not heard of anything like this before. There is a crash reporter but I have seen very few crashes so I guess I understand the silent part. Which version of Mac OS is did you see this in?
