Can Grott disturb?

If I have used grott as proxy before but now my inverter communicates with the growatt server directly, can the grott instance that is still running on my pi (without reason really) disturb the communication between inverter and growatt server in any way?

I am thinking if grott still connects to the growatt server in any way and catch any commands that was meant for the inverter?
