Improve dark mode compatibility and post-upload UX in the media manager

Hello,

Two issues affect the media manager UI/UX (see screenshot).

1. Dark mode issues

The media thumbnail area uses a bright background/border that contrasts poorly with the dark theme.

Expected
Consistent dark-mode styling for media cards: darker background, proper contrast, uniform borders.

Actual
The selected thumbnail block appears very bright and visually inconsistent.

Suggestion
Align thumbnail/card styling with the dark theme (background, borders, text/icon contrast).

2. UX after uploading a media file

Currently, after uploading, only a small “checkmark” appears in the dropzone. The folder content itself does not refresh, and the newly uploaded file does not appear until a manual reload.

Expected
The folder view should automatically refresh so the user immediately sees the uploaded file—similar to OS file managers.

Actual
The new file is added to the list but remains unselected, causing confusion.

Suggestion
Refresh the folder content after upload and optionally auto-select or highlight the new file.

Thanks for reporting these UX issues! The dark mode glitches have been fixed in #49

Regarding the 2nd point ("UX after uploading a media file"), however, I partially disagree with the approach of automatically reloading the entire folder view immediately upon completion.

My concern is that a forced reload could introduce friction in common workflows, specifically:

• if a user uploads 2 new files to a large folder (eg. already containing 50 files), keeping the newly uploaded items visible at the top of the modal window makes them instantly available for immediate selection. A folder reload would force the user to scroll in the files list and search for the newly uploaded files
• in the case of bulk uploads (eg. if I am uploading 20 files), we need to display a feedback for the files that did not upload correctly. A folder reload would clear this context information

Maybe we could only refresh the folder when the user is not in the context of a modal window, and when all the uploaded files did complete successfully. What do you think?

Thanks for your feedback and for the quick fix on the dark-mode issues!

Regarding the post-upload behaviour, I fully agree that forcing a full folder reload after each upload would be frustrating in many cases (large folders, bulk uploads, etc.).

A concrete reference is what Ranky Media does in its demo video (https://github.com/ranky/media-bundle): after the upload, the new files are injected directly into the current view, without reloading the folder, and they are immediately available for selection (client side). That kind of behaviour makes it very clear to the user what has just been added and what can be used next.

Concretely for MediaBundle, a good compromise could be:

• after a successful upload, inject the new media items into the current list/grid (no full reload);
• keep a short-lived “Just uploaded” highlight on those items;
• keep any error badges directly on the relevant thumbnails.

This would solve the confusion I mentioned (“the file is uploaded but appears unselected / hard to find”) while preserving performance and the bulk-upload feedback you are concerned about. Implementing this incremental update + auto-selection behaviour would be a nice improvement, even if it is not the most critical topic.
