Some questions before I jump in

Hello! I'd really like to use this but I have a few questions before I get into it:

1. When a media item is deleted from Jellyfin, is it also unmonitored and/or deleted from Sonarr/Radarr?

2. Does it support multiple Sonarr/Radarr instances?

3. Does Jellysweep provide some sort of "Leaving Soon" functionality, so users know when something is leaving soon, similar to what Janitorr does? Or is that something they can only see in Jellysweep?

4. Does Jellysweep support deletion designed for "daily" shows, meaning "keep the latest 20 episodes"?

5. On the admin panel it said something like deleting in 30 days, expiring in 90 days. What does the expiring part mean?

6. How is age determined? Using Jellystat, Sonarr/Radarr, Jellyfin?

7. Just to be clear, it gets viewing status from Jellystat and if the media has not been watched in a certain time period media is deleted?

8. Is watching an episode (or whatever the threshold is for being "watched") of an 8 season long series enough to "reset the timer" for deletion?

9. Can you set different age / last stream thresholds for different media -- sort of like profiles?

Sorry for all the questions. Deletion is serious business so I want to make sure I understand before diving in. Thanks!

Hi there,

1. The media is actually deleted (and unmonitored) in sonarr / radarr and not in Jellyfin. I noticed that this can have some side effects, because Jellyfin doesn't do any cleanups automatically, causing orphaned files like trickplay images. Issue for this: Cleanup leftovers on filesystem #30

3. I drafted a PR to create "leaving soon" collections, but that isn't ready to merge yet: feat: create "leaving soon" collections #54

4. I haven't really considered the use case for daily shows to be honest. So no, that isn't supported at the moment.

5. If you approve a keep request in the admin panel, that media item will be ignored by jellysweep and that ignore will expire in 90 days.

6. Age is determined using sonarr / radarr. For TV Shows, it will look when the first episode was added. This logic has some room for improvement tho, as the check doesn't work very well for content that has been deleted and added for a second time.

7. Exactly. And the watch period can be configured with the last_stream_threshold filter.

8. Yes, at the moment I'm simply checking if there was a stream for an item, without doing further checks like the duration of the stream.

9. You can configure different content filters and cleanup policies per jellyfin library.

Hi @jon4hz, thanks so much for answering those questions. I really appreciate it. Most of my concerns seem like they'll be addressed soon, so I think I'll be using Jellysweep :) I just have one follow-up question if you don't mind:

Can Jellysweep determine age if media was manually added to Sonarr/Radarr, for example in situations when automatic import is not possible?

I haven't tested that to be honest. Jellysweep determines the age using the history API from sonarr/radarr. What does the history in your sonarr/radarr instance show for imported items?

I see. I'm asking because Janitorr has the same "issue". Manually imported items do not have a history. Sometimes in Sonarr/Radarr, an automatic import is not possible, requiring manual import. In situations where media does not have a history, can they still be deleted by Jellysweep using time last streamed?

Let me know if you'd like me to make this an issue or feature request or something, btw.

From doing dry-runs, it appears that even if a movie/series does not have an age, as long as the media meets the last stream threshold, it will be marked for deletion.

It may be important to point this out in the README, as eligibility is technically not defined solely by content age.
