state command misses lines when triggered as ALT + S shortcut only

As seen here, I hit ALT+S and it shows state and the files that have been changed show up, but then seem to be immediately removed. But when I type "state" I get the correct output.

This may be related to #38 but I struggle to understand that thread completely.

If the edits list is sufficiently long, they show up. It feels like it's getting overwritten by the prompt.. but it's just a standard stardock prompt.

@ShawnMcCool What version of Fish are you using and what OS/terminal?

What the state command (Alt + S) does is the following:

I'm using Fish 4.0.2 on Arch Linux x86_64 / KDE and I can not reproduce the issue, neither pressing Alt+S nor executing state.

Try running those commands in your terminal and report if you notice any differences.

• Change the state function and test it with the commands above

Maybe your issue is not something trivial to reproduce or related to Fish itself.
