Rome wasn't built in one day json-schema, from json Media Type for JavaScript Object Notation, itself firmly based on the ECMAScript Language Specification that came before and schema definitely not the first of its kind and quite likely not going to be the last. We may have the pick of the crop from any of the blueprints at our disposal, by adapting to what we already know, instead of trying to create something new, we will level out the learning curve an facilitate adoption without undue resistance.
