Modifying the free-sort plugin

Hello,

I am writing to hear any ideas on first steps and/or resources that would help create an online task which I think will require modifying the free-sort plugin.

On the top half of the screen, I want to present about 100 images across multiple pages that the participants should be able to move through. One image will be fixed at a particular location on the bottom half of the screen. Participants' task will be to choose 5 images from the 100 and put or drag them at the bottom of the page, next to the image on the bottom.

Any ideas on how to get started on this task would be much appreciated. Would it be possible to achieve this task using the free-sort plugin?
