Modifying sketchpad plugin to allow inserted text into drawings

Hi,

Has anyone found a way to modify the sketchpad plugin so subjects can insert text into their drawings? I think this would be a good functionality to help control for drawing experience (or rather a lack thereof). Drawers could use text to label objects that they draw from memory if they feel as if their drawing doesn't reflect what it's meant to.

The text would be saved as a part of the drawing (i.e., in the base64 encoding output).
