Can't Authorize

Hi there!

I've been having issues just verifying the bot. I was able to register it on the twitch site but can't get past the auth portion.

I am also having an issue with this. No matter what I try, the "Invalid oAuth access token" error message pops up. I have tried refreshing for a new access token, removing the bot connection from my Twitch account and reconnecting it, removing the source from OBS / Meld Studio and adding it again, and more. Do you have any suggestions for what the issue might be? Thank you for your help!

sounds like you both have this step down but I just need to double check.

secondly, keep in mind when making file changes to the TaskBot its very important you pay attention to the details.
even if you miss a single " <-- double quote. the app will not load.

I carefully followed the README instructions and made sure the code was exactly as you showed. Just now, I tried the entire process again from scratch, re-downloading and following the instructions step-by-step again to create a new application, but the same error occurs. I am at a loss for what else to try, or how to continue troubleshooting. Could it be a Twitch account setting issue, or are there other possibilities for what is going wrong?

I just remembered other user had a similar issue on Windows,, Link to previous oAuth issue.
Apparently on Windows PCs, if you make a change to a file, for example _auth.js, and then close the file, it will not auto save
any changes you've made to a file. — It may appear as if it does save because when you go back and open the file you will see your previous changes, but in reality it's not considered a "hard save".

⛑️ The fix is to force save the files. You have 2 options,

Option 1: On the top of the file, navigate to File > Save.
Option 2: Use the save keyboard shortcut (aka hotkey) Ctrl + s

@jujoco I am actually on macOS, and I am editing the files using Sublime Text — I can confirm that the files are definitely getting saved. Is there another possible solution? Is it an issue with the access key process?

In the _settings.js file, There is a property named "testMode" which allows you to preview the appearance of the taskbot.
Be sure to set this value back to "false" when you're ready to go live.

testMode: false, // true or false - for testing purposes
