Which version of JupyterLab to target

I wanted to raise the question about which version of JupyterLab to target. Some options:

• All releases in the 4.x series. This would be very nice, but not sure it is realistic as there may be other issues we run into.
• 4.4. The latest minor release has fixed the RTC prefix issue that we will most definitely run into.

My initial thinking is to target 4.4 initially and see how it goes. Thoughts?

Quick update: we are currently targeting JupyterLab 4.4.

@ellisonbg I agree that targeting JL 4.4 initially makes sense. Now that we own both the lab & server extension, I think it is realistic to explore fixing the RTC prefix issue to be compatible w/ all JL4 minor versions. But this can be done anytime before v1.0.0.
