win32api Paths.py

Jupyter core was working fine in my application, but I recently ran into issues getting a SAM user in the Paths.py file.

Error: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done

I tried restarting the computer and running scan commands to clean up files that had been corrupted. Neither worked.

Env info: Windows Server 2016.

Under the "win32_restrict_file_to_user" function (Paths.py file), I changed user, _domain, _type = win32security.LookupAccountName( "", win32api.GetUserNameEx(win32api.NameSamCompatible)
to
user, _domain, _type = win32security.LookupAccountName("", win32api.GetUserName())

This worked
